HONEST COMPARISON

FastFound vs Semrush

What they are genuinely good at, where we differ, and who should pick which. We have tried not to write the version where we win every row.

The largest platform in this market, now part of Adobe, with an AI Visibility Toolkit and an Enterprise AIO product on top of a full SEO suite.

The verifiable bits
  • Owned by Adobe.
  • Publishes an AI Visibility Toolkit and an Enterprise AIO product.
  • Publishes an 18-KPI framework across four pillars — Discoverability, Clarity, Authority and Trust — and the formula Discoverability x Clarity x Authority x Trust = AI Visibility.
  • Published a study of 86,000 LinkedIn URLs cited by AI engines, and the AI Visibility Index.
  • Did not publicly answer the 31 methodology questions put to AI visibility vendors in July 2026.

Checked 23 August 2026. If anything here is out of date or wrong, tell us and we will correct it.

What Semrush is genuinely good at

The research is the best in the category, and that includes better than ours. Their study of 86,000 LinkedIn URLs cited by AI engines, and the AI Visibility Index, are the strongest public evidence anybody in this market has published. We read it, we act on it, and we cite it by name.

Their published KPI framework is a real model rather than a marketing diagram: four pillars — Discoverability, Clarity, Authority, Trust — composed multiplicatively, so a zero in any one pillar collapses the result instead of being averaged away. That is the right shape and we have adopted the thinking.

Breadth nobody else matches. Keyword research, backlinks, technical crawling, competitor analysis and AI visibility in one subscription, each at a depth a specialist tool would be proud of.

The AI search optimisation checklist is a usable operating cadence — weekly, monthly and quarterly work, spelled out — and they publish it free.

Where we differ

Published method

We publish our answers to all 31 methodology questions, including the limits of our own score. As far as we can establish, no other platform in this comparison has published theirs.

In July 2026 an independent consultant put 31 methodology questions to every company selling an AI visibility score. Two vendors answered publicly and neither was a large platform. We publish our answers to all 31, including the ones where the honest answer is that we do not know. Worth one line and no more: their published framework claims 18 KPIs and lists 17, with one duplicated to reach the number. Small — but it has been public for months and nobody caught it, which tells you how much of this category is being checked.

Your language

23 languages, 35 markets, local currency and local tax wording — and the work is done in your language, not translated into it afterwards.

English-first, with translated interface where it exists. We sell in 23 languages across 35 markets, and the work is done in that language rather than translated into it afterwards — the prompts we test, the answers we read, the pages we write and the person who replies to your email.

European data residency

AI probes run on Google Vertex AI in Frankfurt (europe-west3); search data is processed in Germany by an Estonian company. Every sub-processor is documented.

We have not audited where they process data and we make no claim about it. What we will state about ourselves: AI probes run on Google Vertex AI in europe-west3 (Frankfurt), search data is processed in Germany by an Estonian company, and every sub-processor is written down with its transfer instrument.

Done for you

A tool hands you a dashboard and a list of tasks. We run the tasks. That is the difference between a subscription and a growth department.

Their own checklist is thirty-odd recurring tasks, each one mapped to a Semrush product that you operate. That is the honest tell of a tool vendor: it is a list of work you still have to do. We run the cadence ourselves. That is the difference between a subscription and a growth department.

Who should pick which

Pick Semrush if

If you have an in-house SEO or content team with real hours to spend, buy Semrush. You get the best data set in the category and you have the people to act on it, and paying an agency to operate a tool you could operate yourself is a bad trade. The same holds if you need keyword research, a backlink index and a site crawler — we sell none of those and are not going to build them.

Pick us if

We are the alternative when there is nobody to run the checklist, when your buyers do not read English, and when you want to read how a score is calculated before you believe it. If the licence would land on the desk of someone who already has a full week, you are buying a dashboard and a to-do list.

There is no performance figure anywhere on this page. We do not publish one — ours or anybody else's — until it is our own measured result, and we do not have one yet. Anyone showing you a number should be able to tell you whose data it is.

Abbreviations used on this site

Statute, regulator and standard names are given in their own language, because that is what they are called — a translated citation would be one you could not look up.
